“If you want to change attitudes, start with a change in behavior.”
-William Glasser
I have been working with children and families in various capacities since 2000. I have served as a counselor/therapist for public and private sector organizations, worked for schools, as well as non-profit agencies. I provide counseling services to children ages 14-17. For adults, I provide therapy in individual or couples format. Individual counseling is my most frequently used modality, with group counseling being provided or offered as warranted.
I am a registered therapist in the state of Texas with the Department of State Health, which means I am a fully licensed therapist. I am also a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Just like a physical exam, you should come in ready to have an open and frank discussion with your therapist. In our first meeting, as your therapist, I will need to assess you, which will eventually lead to a diagnosis and treatment plan. To do this, I need to get as much information as I, can related to your condition, if any exist. Keep in mind, most everything disclosed will be confidential. While that may or may not make it easier to open up, I have been trained to know what questions to ask and when to listen. It can feel like a casual conversation, sprinkled with personal information that leads to a diagnosis and treatment plan. It's important to be honest so your therapist has an accurate understanding of you.
No. Thinking that one has to be “seriously disturbed” in order to see a therapist is a myth.
Just as some physicians specialize in curing life-threatening illnesses, while others treat “everyday” illnesses like flus, coughs, and colds, psychotherapists can serve a wide range of clients with a range of needs and goals, too.
Each session is, essentially, a problem-solving session. You describe your current situation, and your feelings about it, and then the therapist uses their expertise to assist you in trying to resolve that problem so you can move closer to having the life you wish to have.
With more than 15 years of experience, we help you improve your life and relationship.
